The California native is the mother of two and blogs at Romance and Chocolate: Faith has had a little experience in kaein love department but none of it has been with a man, not until Eric, who respects her upbringing and is willing to wait til they are married.
Overall, the depiction of Faith, a devout Catholic and an academic and Sydney, a super-rich, lesbian, politician, rang true and the author didn’t rely on the usual artificial obstacles and painful misunderstandings to further the plot. A breathtaking romance for the ages. I really liked the aspect of this book that dealt with religion and coming out. I had been reading, thinking that this didn’t feel like a 20 year old novel, but as the two women got closer to getting together, that changed.

Caroline Hislop rated it it was amazing Apr 17, My longish review got erased somehow last night but what I had tried to say was how impressed I was with Ms Kallmaker’s efforts to educate all who read this book. I love this story I love all of Karin’s stories, of course but this one is extra interesting with the historical content! It’s a phenomenally constructed love story about 2 vastly different women whose intensely powerful feelings for each other transcends all boundaries.
After that scene she decides to move out, and live her life, all the while trying to ignore her feelings for Sydney.
This is my favourite, Sydney and Faith and their love story, two smart, lovely, tortured women, I have read it ten times at least and recommend it and or lend it all the time. Lists with This Book.
