I received this book as a gift, and it’s not one that I ever would have bought for myself.
Also the cookie section could use more information. Any baker should have this in their library. Beginners can cook from it and know exactly what they are doing and why. Have Your Cake and Eat it Too.
With her years of experience from big-pot cooking for teenage boys and her classic French culinary training to her work as a research biochemist at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine, Shirley manages to put two and two together in unique and exciting ways. The recipes look phenomenal- I’m a baker who’s confident to try a recipe the most complicated way possible, and most of these recipes have more than a few extra steps to ensure perfection in cooking.
