HOWLAND, Ohio (WKBN) – Several local groups and organizations gathered Thursday in Trumbull County to discuss what’s happening in their communities.

The Youngstown-Warren Regional Chamber’s annual Good Morning, Trumbull event in Howland boasted different speakers discussing work happening in their organizations and plans to move forward over the next year.

Trumbull County Commissioner Denny Malloy gave a 2023 update on Trumbull County and said the Valley has some of the best business minds in the world.

“When I go into these meetings, I’m not the smartest guy in the room and I never will claim to be,” said Malloy. “We have some great, great talent. We have some people that really care about the Valley and are really doing a standup job, making sure that we have a solid future.”

Malloy also said he’s optimistic about Trumbull County’s future and feels plenty of new businesses and groups are serving the community in a positive way.

Other speakers included Steve Remillard, who discussed the Trumbull Energy Center; and Patrice Russel, who talked about workforce development at Akron Children’s Mahoning Valley.

Several others gave updates on their organizations as well.
